Prayer for My Hometown
Please be in prayer for the town of Miles City, Montana-my hometown. At this point almost an entire block has been destroyed by fire. The fire has been burning for about 24 hours, and atleast nine businesses have been brought to ruin. I read an article this morning that due to a 1.5 million gallon water tank being painted, they have been relying on water from only a half-million gallon tank. So, they're having to do somewhat of a balancing act on how it's used, when etc. This kind of loss is physically and emotionally exhausting, so pray for the lives, families and hearts of the people who are so directly affected. God always has a purpose in all things, and knowing this we pray for people we don't know.

I will pray, Kathy.
Thanks for sharing this with us, Kathy. We've had several bad fires of small communities in our area, too.

That's so tragic. Do they know how it started?
Yes, I'll be praying.
Brenda, not yet. My sister in law is the one who let me know this was going on. Thanks for the prayers.
Ooops. Done it before-posted under Danny's ID (my sweetie hub!), so ignore Don Knotts and translate all of those words to my ID. : )
Wow!! I am praying also!
Wow, I didn't know about this. I will pray.
Praying here. Thanks for letting us know.
Oh how devastating!
My son is going to college in Montana and loves it there. Praying...

The fire is out and no one is hurt. Nine of the eleven businesses on that stretch of the block were destroyed. A pharmacy and jewelry store were saved and sustained some damage. The paper says that 40-50 people were employed in these places of business. There's of a lot of unkonwns as of yet. We lost a vital part of our community. Please continue to pray for wisdom for all concrned as they try to assess what's to happen next.
Thanks for your prayers.
Traci-glad you commented on the status of the fire. I was just on milescity.com and reading the Billings paper online last night. As I mentioned to Karen, even in a city like Phoenix Metro area with about 3 million people milling about, the same scenario would be devestating-not to mention its effect in a town of 10 thousand or so. No one needs a hit like this to their livelihoods. Our prayers continue.
