About the Heart

My heart has been massaged: my heart, the part of me that can feel weary at the end of a long, mothering & everything else kind of day, the part of me that needs to sit and breathe, to receive the ministry of the Lord. So here's how it happened:

Step One: A grateful daughter get's Heaven's eyes for her mother and proceeds to tell her that she looks really young, not just once, but many times. Then she adds that her mother looks like a teenager. (At that point I turn slightly to see what she may be wanting, but she insists it's the truth!)

Step Two: A loving son gets out the rolling pin, a lego-toy with nubby wheels, and with his hands in motion proceeds to give his mother a backrub to beat ALL backrubs.

My response: I laid my head on the desk where I am now sitting, and simply received. Ah, life and peace. From Jesus to me, all because of His great love.

I told the children that they are often the heart and hands of the Lord here in our home, and then ultimately-out there in the world where they will one day be entering into the land and territories He's given them to possess. I pray their children will add to them as they(mine) have added to me. I am blessed. I am refreshed.

Ah, I just love those little touches! Praying He shows you how much He loves you in many more little ways like this.

That's beautiful, Kathy. Just confirms that they are gleaning from your own example of service to others. Yes, it's nice to be able to sit back and receive.

And this from the ones who live with you where you are...as you are. The precious ones, who are with you almost as much as the Holy Spirit. What a beautiful picture of Jesus' love!

Your sowing and reaping in the same season with your children. That's a miracle.

Sandra, what an observation. I'm not sure I would have made the connection, but you're right! What a time we're living in. Thank you for that, and I take it as an encouragement, and a sign of God working in our home and family.

What a beautiful way you refer to your children -the heart and hands of the Lord in your home. That touched my heart so much! They are our greatest treasures from the Lord! ~Blessings!
