In the beginning God created....

I just wanted to post a blurb to remind everyone that Sunday 1/18/09 is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, marking the beginning of a week to honor the life and the hope of the unborn child. If you have a local Crisis Pregnancy Support Center I want to encourage you to give a donation of any size to their ministry. We have a very active center in Phoenix that last year alone helped over thousands of families, moms, dads, and children to be ....in crisis. A family I know shared a personal testimony with me that they, as a Christian married couple, visited a local crisis pregnancy support center because they had an unexpected pregnancy as a married couple and it was really throwing their home and relationship into a tailspin. Crisis Pregnancy Support Centers also counsel post-abortive Dads who have helped fund abortions. Their ministry is amazing, and we need to keep them in prayer through the year. I pray also that the Lord will give us as Christians opportunity to tell the world about the new mercies of the Lord, the mercies that will rain down on us in the morning when we wake up! The mercy that sloshes around our feet, falling off our shoulders as we ready for a night's rest. Thank you Lord.

Hi Kathy, thank you for your nice comments, I really appreciate it. This is the first time I've shared things about my personal life with God like this, I am glad you enjoy reading it. Writing it down really makes me think about things and helps me focus. I'm thinking of starting a special blog with these little reflections. And I'm hoping God will use it to help others, maybe even to bring some of my non-Christian friends to Him!

If there's anything you want to know about Holland, feel free to ask! I plan on posting little things about Holland every now and then too. And the differences between Holland and the USA.

May the Lord bless you and your family!
Irma

PS. I noticed you're homeschooling, I plan on homeschooling Gabriel too! :-)

I love the mental image of mercy raining down on us -- sloshing around in mercy all the better!

Hi, Kathy,
Thanks for stopping by my blog. It's nice to meet you. It's great to get to know other worship leaders and find out I'm not the only one who has dumb things happen to them. Sometimes I think the Lord lets some of those things happen, at least to me, so I don't get a big head about things. He keeps me mindful that the gifts and abilities I have are from Him, and not of my own doing. :)
Anyhow, I enjoyed reading your blog, too, and will be back to visit you again. I hope you'll come back over to B'z Place again soon. O, and the new songs we did yesterday were "You Are Good" by Israel Houghton and "Because of Who You Are" and I don't know the name of the original composer. This is the song that I had changed the keyboard's voice to a kind of strings with bells sort of (hard to explain), and then I was trying to change back to the original piano voice for the next song after. Somehow, I hit the transpose button on the keyboard, and it changed the key but didn't change the voice. I didn't even realize what button I had hit and I just couldn't figure out why the sound wasn't changing! Like I said, I think the Lord just lets those things happen to keep me totally dependant on Him.
Have a great day. Brenda
