The Dangers of An Inquisitive Mind

Not related to the Bumbling Genius' most recent post whatsoever, but it seems our house has been graced with atleast one inquisitive mind.
Although he has been calling himself the "man of the house" while his Daddy is out of town, it is apparent that the mental faculties of our youngest are not nearly as developed as those of the Bumbling Genius.

Daniel became curious. He became curious about what it would feel like if he put his finger into an empty lightbulb recepticle while the lights were on. (If I fill out a Science Experiment Sheet complete with hypothesis, could I count this for today's science? Anyone?) Um, if he would have only asked! His inquisition led to a shocking realization, you might say, that it hurts like the dickens!

Moms, you'll have to forgive me. I am so very thankful that nothing life-threatening happened, but I admit, a grin surfaced and nearly took on a life of it's own in the form of an actual laugh when he told me he just wanted to know "what it would feel like." I think I'll take a raw egg to a tall hill to demonstrate what happens when we try to do things like...say, defy gravity. While I'm at it, I'd better bump up our science a little this year. Curiosity at this age appears to have a few kinks to be worked out!

Time to make yourself the "Mad Scientist" Lab coat! My sister taught science in middle school for a number of years and she had one...What great fun the kids had in her science classes. It was almost as fun for her to research what would happen next! She was a real crack-up. I'm not sure, but there were a few years where she wore her hair short and very curly with very large round glasses that were red...Just let your imagination bring up the picture!

HILARIOUS! I hope my now 21 year old doesn't read this comment...when she was 13 or 14 she (obviously without thinking!) just stuck a pair of tweezers in the light socket. I laughed so hard as I was groping around looking for the breaker box. Back to science 101!

Should I tell you (or shouldn't I) that when little fella told big fella about this event, big fella asked him, "Did you light up??" Laughter followed by both father and son. Uh, boys! :)
