A Way To Pray Today

Often times, many times the Bible needs no commentary and is able to explain itself quite well. I love those places where the message seems perfectly clear. Consider the following passage from John 17: 25-26:

25"Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. 26I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them."
(NIV)

Could this not be our prayer today? How is it that man seems to think it has no need for God, a Savior, a Lord of all? Self-sufficiency in concept is as a winter coat filled with holes and containing no buttons.

As I review the news and observe the World today, I take on the heart of this prayer.

May we truly shed His love abroad in the little corner of the world where He has planted and placed each and every one of us.....so the world might know HIM.

Can you imagine having a relative you have never known sending his son to tell us about his father?

The only view we would have of the relative is what the son expressed to us through the sons actions.

What love Jesus expressed from the Father to us!!!! May we express that love on to others.

Beautiful post!!

It's funny that you post this as this afternoon my sister and I were at Taco Bell and I was overhearing a conversation from a Jehovah's Witness family trying to 'win' over another couple.
The whole conversation was about their 'works' and reasonings behind why they believe the way they do--no holidays, birthdays, bearing of arms, etc. Even talked about how Nimrod's birthday was the date that we celebrate Christmas. I'm thinking, wow how deceived.
I was so grieved because
people aren't interested in rules and regs. They're wanting the Hope, and the most important words our world needs to hear are how much Jesus loves them. They don't need argument, or justification of why I believe what I believe, just simply "Jesus loves you" and then showing His love through us by our actions.
Good prayer.
Have a wonderful week.

It's amazing that total surrender to Jesus provides for us the ultimate freedom...from a host of things we could list. Oh, that the world may know!

Indeed, HOPE in Jesus with a CHANGE of heart is what the world is so desperately in need of...probably why many non-christians and many of our own brothers and sisters in Christ, were so easily swayed to the Hope and Change we were so recently deceived with...

Excellent point, Nancy. Looking for someone to change something that only Jesus can transform....a set up from the true enemy of their souls.
