I found these gems while studying up on tomorrow's science lesson; such gems being the following quotes from the great mind of Sir Isaac Newton:
‘I have a fundamental belief in the Bible as the Word of God, written by men who were inspired. I study the Bible daily.’
‘This most beautiful system of the sun, planets, and comets, could only proceed from the counsel and dominion of an intelligent Being. … This Being governs all things, not as the soul of the world, but as Lord over all; and on account of his dominion he is wont to be called “Lord God” παντοκρατωρ [pantokratòr], or “Universal Ruler”. … The Supreme God is a Being eternal, infinite, absolutely perfect.’2
...and this most timely quote:
‘Trials are medicines which our gracious and wise physician gives because we need them; and the proportions the frequency and weight of them to what the case requires. Let us trust his skill and thank him for the prescription."
As a Mother and a Teacher my view of God is contantly expanded. Be magnified, O Lord. Be magnified in our hearts, our eyes and minds.

When we hear comments from scientists today who don't believe in God, it's refreshing to hear something like that!
Another example of the great heritage of our nation, values and even science being based on our Almighty God & Creator. Thanks for sharing.
I typed out the words of David Wilkersons you posted to share with our Bible Study last night at Sandras and plan to do the same this Friday night at our prayer meeting. Thanks again for posting this powerful message we need so very badly.

Mari, you are so right. What a genius Newton was, and he didn't back down on his convictions, whatever they were, not even before kings.
Susan, for some reason (a God reason) the first link I read concerning Newton was from Answers in Genesis, a Christian based organization. I checked other links and while some aleuded to Newton's love for the Bible not nearly as much relevant detail was given. They just don't want us to know what drove him.
I loved the fact that they (most early science)men where believers - Thanks for the post...we are coming to Isaac... :)
It always amazes me that when a question arises in the natural world, even some Christians tend to think science has the correct answer opposed to the Bible...instead of the other way around...Today, many are stunned when science finds that they were missing a piece and the Bible is actually correct in summation of the disputed matter.
I never knew that Newton was a believer. Thanks for posting this. It is great to see science and God going hand in hand, instead opposites.
