This Day

Take a glimpse into our day:

Bethany is discovering how to make equivalent fractions while Daniel is turning his world upside down reading. I knew progress was being made because his body and his book were turned the same way. I should add that not only was his torso upside down while reading, but he threw in some contrived accent to boot. Bethany obviously has a mind like a steel trap in that she seemed to focus quite well on her adventures. Something tells me she's going to make a great Mom.
May I confess that I loved this moment?

I really admire those that choose to homeschool. It is a ministry in itself.

Just another day in the lives of homeschoolers! Nothing unusual at all!
Love it.
Happy September.

Looks like a great day! That is some serious concentration Bethany's got going on:) I would love to hear that accent sometime, he's such a funny little guy!

Thank you Sister.Faith. Yes, I too think it is a ministry. As I told someone yesterday, even though I "wouldn't have it any other way", it doesn't lessen the commitment and effort to fulfill the task. If you know anyone who's considering homeschooling I recommend Sally Clarkson's book, "Educating the Whole-Hearted Child", a book wherein the focus is truly on educating the WHOLE child. We can easily focus on curriculum only, but the purpose of homeschooling is taking up our God-given calling to train up the next generation.

Thanks for coming by, and I'm enjoying our blog friendship.

We start next week and I can hardly wait! I will have to show the upside down reading technique to Savannah...she will want to try that I am sure of it!

Gina, I hope you have a great start to the new school year. I know ya'll are moving which is not the easiest time to begin a school year. Well let's see, Savannah can practice her penmanship on the moving boxes :) She can identify squares, rectanges, and the like. She can work on ordinal numbers...unload this box first, this one second, etc. : ) Homeschooling on the move, literally. Blessings and keep us posted in blog world on how it's all going.
