The Math of Emotions

Young son says (over what I do not recall), " I am mad. Just mad!" Being a bedtime moment I said, "Honey, you can't go to bed mad. The Bible says, 'Don't let the sun go down on your anger.' " He replies, "But I'm not angry, I'm mad." "Those are two different words!" After my mini-seminar on synonyms, he then said, "Mom, mad is mad. Anger is mad plus mad." The math of emotions: I simply didn't know!
